The all-ages music festival BASED is back for its third instalment! BASED will take over the Button Factory on December 30th 2024, with a fully stacked lineup of up-and-coming acts. This groundbreaking all-ages festival is the first of its kind and is designed to provide a platform for young emerging talent in Ireland. It was created in response to the need for inclusive and accessible events for a new generation of artists and music fans.
The festival will showcase a diverse lineup of up-and-coming indie rock acts from around Ireland. Attendees can expect incredible music, as well as cutting-edge production featuring visual effects and state-of-the-art lighting.
Presented by Fluttertone, champions of independent music in Ireland for nearly a decade, the BASED festival aims to create an inclusive space for music lovers of all ages. Festival director Colm says, “I’ve seen so much talent in bands that are fantastic but can’t get opportunities to play because they’re not 18.” BASED provides a stage for these young artists, as well as addressing the lack of safe shows for young music fans.
One band to catch on the night is Croíthe, who blend dark, moody vibes with atmospheric soundscapes. Active for just over a year, Garvan Lambert has already released two albums and gigged extensively. They are joined by Concrete Handbag who’s enthusiastic following have made them one to watch. Also on the night will be must-see acts Bioluminescence, Pending and The Hex, the captivating Cedalia, among others.
