Fresh off releasing his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Rinse & Repeat’ which Hotpress described as “…anthemic, cathartic and full of conviction” while giving it a very impressive 8/10 review, indie-rock artist ALKY has just announced his debut headline show with MCD in Whelan’s (Upstairs) on Friday April 3rd.
Fast becoming known for his rugged yet melodic style, ALKY’s live shows are packed with soaring, raw, heartfelt anthems. Previously nominated for an Emmy award for sound mixing, ALKY’s transition to a solo career showcases his multifaceted talents as both a songwriter and music producer.
“When writing the album, I wanted to explore the tension between intimacy and avoidance, love and loss, hope and heartbreak. I’m really proud of how ‘Rinse & Repeat’ has been received but ultimately, I feel these songs really come into their own when performed live” says ALKY.
