Dublin based R&B artist Melina Malone this week releases her latest track ‘No Better Place’ available now on Spotify. Accompanied by an emotive music video showcasing Dublin City through the years, ‘No Better Place’ features some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, captured through the lens of Melina’s family home videos. ‘No Better Place’ features Malone’s trademark soulful vocals which are accompanied by lo-fi relaxed beats that take the listener on a journey of hometown pride and the blissful joy of childhood and growing up. ‘No Better Place’ is the latest track released by R&B artist Melina Malone following her 2020 single ‘Realize’.
Born and raised in Dublin City Centre’s Charlemont Street Flats, Melina has been heavily influenced by Dublin city and ‘No Better Place’ is a celebration of the many memories created within the county’s borders. With the pandemic affecting the livelihoods of many artists and creatives in Ireland, seeing them return to their hometowns and family homes, ‘No Better Place’ was written by Melina with the hopes to shed a positive light on returning to your roots while sharing a message of hope about things getting better.
Melina says, “This song is a homage to home, whatever that may mean to you. During the uncertainty of the pandemic, people all around the world were suddenly forced to adapt to their surroundings and retreat. For me, although it was an incredibly difficult time, I found myself being filled with gratitude and appreciation for my family, my city and place of belonging. Home is so much more than a geographical location. It can be a feeling, an embrace, a refuge, the centre of who we are; Most importantly, it can be whatever you want it to be. Whether you’re watching friends take the leap and leave Ireland, or you yourself are unable to travel home due to restrictions, I hope this ‘No Better Place’ can provide solace for you.”
Co-produced by Melina’s long time writing partner Steven McCann, aka RVSTLESS, the track features a relaxed and mesmerising melody line that is weaved into the songs ambient production elements. With Melina’s inimitable vocals flowing throughout the piece, her lyrical prowess takes centre stage, boasting a modern & emotionally mature writing style that captures the essence of what it means to be proud of your home.
This is the 1st single to be released by Melina Malone in 2021, following 2020 tracks ‘Realize’ and ‘Ti En Afto’. The track is a prelude to Melina’s highly anticipated debut project which will be announced in late 2021.
