Irish Composers’ Collective present The Music Educators’ Orchestra

November 19, 2013

ICCThe Music Educators’ Orchestra was established in 2011 to give music teachers and practitioners the opportunity to keep in practise on their instruments and to develop new skills by composing and arranging music for the ensemble, as well as commissioning new works.

The orchestra is directed by Irish composer Peter Moran, and this concert marks the culmination of a year-long collaboration with the Irish Composers Collective in which the MEO will perform seven new works written especially for the group. The concert includes a new arrangement of an old classic alongside an exciting mix of notated scores, environmental sounds, improvisation and live electronics, all rounded off with an original group composition by the orchestra members themselves.

Programme:

Music Educators’ Orchestra – Duh-Duh
