Digital music distribution powerhouse CD Baby has partnered once again with Ireland Music Week this year, to support the professional development of Irish artists. All 50 IMW showcasing artists will receive a comprehensive CD Baby distribution package, with three showcasing artists each winning a CD Baby Artist Bursary. The €1000 grant to each, will help provide a band or solo artist the resources to develop their artistic practice, as well as mentoring + a comprehensive artist services package from CD Baby to support them every step of the way. The winning acts will be selected by international industry delegates attending Ireland Music Week. CD Baby will also be offering distribution and release strategy workshops for artists, labels and managers, covering a breadth of topics for the independent musician.

Rich Orchard, Director of European Market Development at CD Baby, said: “At what is a very difficult time for independent musicians, we’re extremely happy to return to partner (virtually!) with Ireland Music Week again for 2020. We made some great relationships in Dublin a year ago with showcasing artists, their management and labels, and it’s been gratifying to have been able to help build some of those journeys since, with some fantastic successes along the way. This year, we have a goal of shining a spotlight on all 50 showcasing artists, as well as working closely with our next three CD Baby IMW Artist Bursary winners. We will empower them all with preferred distribution across digital platforms, and best-in-class services across publishing admin, digital marketing, video monetization and sync representation; doing all we can to help support this key stage in their careers.”

IMW also today releases detail of the 39 panels and workshops that will cover all the topics you need to engage with as a developing musician or music industry professional. All conversations will take place in the context of the impact that the current pandemic is having on the industry, particularly on the live sector. Further international delegates and speakers have been added and a significant amount of delegates from all over the world will attend the nightly showcases.

Panel and Workshop topics include:

Introductions to publishing, management, labels, international touring and showcasing, A&R. Live pitch sync session, gender balance discussion, diversity discussion and much more.  There will be a chat with the Normal People music supervisors along with a look at a decade of Irish Hip Hop.

The artist showcases, filmed at Lost Lane, will take place online on Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th across three stages from 8pm each night.
