The Irish Composition Summer School (ICSS) returns in July 2025, hosted at the TU Dublin Conservatory of Music. This intensive programme is open to early-career composers and students considering composition as a career, offering a focused and immersive learning experience in a supportive, professional environment.

Participants will engage in a full-day schedule of group seminars, one-to-one tutorials, and dedicated composing time. The course provides a valuable opportunity to develop new work, receive detailed feedback, and have your music performed by professional musicians.

📚 Background
Founded in 1983 by composer John Buckley as the Ennis Composition Summer School, the ICSS has played a pivotal role in the development of Irish composition for over 30 years. Alumni include many of Ireland’s leading composers, and past tutors and guests have included international figures such as Bent Sørensen, Liza Lim, Christopher Fox, and Kevin Volans, among others.
