About IMRO
IMRO administers the performing right in copyright music on behalf of its members (songwriters, composers and music publishers) and on behalf of members of the international overseas societies that are affiliated to it. IMRO’s function is to collect and distribute royalties arising from the public performance of copyright works.

To lead, develop, and implement innovative membership, marketing, and customer engagement strategies that reinforce IMRO’s position as a leading music rights organisation. The role focuses on driving sustainable membership growth, deepening member satisfaction, and enhancing the organisation’s visibility across the music and creative sectors in Ireland and internationally.
The post-holder plays a pivotal role in elevating IMRO’s brand profile through digital transformation, targeted outreach, and event programming. They also ensure the seamless delivery of a premium membership experience, with a strong emphasis on serving IMRO’s rapidly expanding national and international membership base. The role bridges strategic marketing, operational excellence, and direct member services to ensure IMRO remains customer-centric and future-ready.
- Job Context and Content
This is a senior, strategic role within IMRO, reporting to the Director of Marketing & Membership Development. The role has line management responsibility for the Marketing & Membership Executives and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Distribution, International, and Licensing.
- Principal Accountabilities
- Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Marketing & Membership team, ensuring high performance, alignment with strategic objectives, and continuous professional development.
- Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Membership Growth & Retention
- Drive member acquisition campaigns with a particular focus on high-profile and emerging music creators, both in Ireland and internationally.
- Develop segmented engagement strategies to address the diverse needs of IMRO’s membership base.
- Relationship Management
- Serve as Key Account Manager for high-profile members, delivering premium service supports and proactive outreach.
- Actively foster long-term relationships with industry stakeholders, including managers, publishers, and music bodies.
- Digital Strategy & Innovation
- Lead the implementation of digital transformation initiatives, including CRM optimisation, member portal development, and automation of key workflows.
- Oversee IMRO’s digital platforms (website, social media, email marketing), ensuring high-impact content, strong analytics, and measurable engagement.
- Marketing & Communications
- Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns (digital, print, events) to promote IMRO’s services, events, and impact stories.
- Ensure consistency and quality in brand messaging across all channels.
- Event Planning & Programming
- Curate, manage, and execute member-facing events including workshops, showcases, and industry partnerships.
- Lead IMRO’s involvement in external festivals, conferences, and awards to enhance brand presence and member value.
- Member Experience & Insights
- Implement regular feedback mechanisms (e.g. surveys, roundtables) to gauge member satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyse member data to drive evidence-based decision-making and continuous service improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal departments (e.g., Distribution, Licensing, International) to ensure a unified and consistent member experience.
- Support internal communications and knowledge-sharing across the organisation.
- Strategic Partnerships & Representation
- Represent IMRO at industry events, trade shows, and strategic initiatives to promote the organisation and strengthen its industry influence.
- Build and maintain partnerships with relevant organisations, such as arts bodies, educational institutions, and music industry networks.

- Ensure that membership and marketing initiatives reflect and support a diverse and inclusive music community.
- Champion inclusive messaging, imagery, and representation across campaigns and events.
- Reporting & Budgeting
- Manage department budgets, supplier relationships, and marketing spend efficiently.
- Produce regular reports on campaign effectiveness, member engagement, and strategic KPIs.

- Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in senior marketing, member services, or customer experience roles, preferably in the music, arts, or rights management sectors.
- Strong leadership, team development, and performance management skills.
- Deep understanding of the music industry (domestic and international), including key trends, challenges, and stakeholder groups.
- Expertise in digital marketing, CRM platforms, and campaign analytics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
Desirable:
- Experience with content management systems, email marketing tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, Mailchimp).
- Project management certification or demonstrable experience leading complex projects.
- Knowledge of intellectual property rights and royalty distribution mechanisms.
