Hozier and Fontaines D.C. are among this year’s Brit Awards nominess, while Charli XCX leads the pack with five nominations.
The Irish indie band, fronted by Grian Chatten, made the international group of the year shortlist, while Wicklow-man Hozier received an international song of the year nod for his single Too Sweet.
The Song of the Year category is particularly packed with Irish talent – including Jazzy for her collaboration with Sonny Fodera and D.O.D, ‘Somedays‘; CamrinWatsin for his track with BL3SS, ‘Kisses‘; and Jordan Adetunji for his viral hit ‘KEHLANI‘. Irish Songwriter Ruth-Anne Cunningham has writing credits on Ella Henderson’s nominated ‘Alibi (feat. Rudimental)’, and songwriters Bill Martin and Phil Coulter on JADE’s nominated ‘Angel Of My Dreams‘.

The nominations were announced on Thursday in a livestreamed event hosted by radio and TV presenter Sian Welby.
Comedian Jack Whitehall will return to host the Brit Awards on Saturday, 1 March at The O2 arena in London.
