Can I Licence other products under this scheme?
No. The VCC licence is only for labels which offer an identical digital copy of a vinyl release via a ‘free-to-consumer’ download code.
Why do I also need to have an AP1/AP2 licence?
Your Audio Product (AP) licence covers mechanical rights exploited in the creation of vinyl products. If you are also making digital downloads available, separate mechanical rights are required along with the right to communicate to the public these digital copies.
The scheme is therefore only available to those who have Licenced the release of vinyl product in the Ireland via an MCPS AP licence. You will be asked to enter an MCPS account number upon application for the VCC licence.
