GRAMMY® and BRIT Award-nominated Irish singer-songwriter RuthAnne will visit IMRO to host a songwriting workshop and discuss her upcoming book, “It’s Not Just A Song.” The event will also feature a listening session, where RuthAnne will provide real-time feedback on IMRO members’ work.
RuthAnne has spent the last twenty years shaping modern pop music from behind the scenes – garnering over 12 billion streams across her songwriting catalogue and over 200 million for her artist releases. She has co-written many high-profile charting hits, including “Too Little Too Late” (JoJo), “Slow Hands” (Niall Horan), “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” (One Direction), “Turn It Up” (Pixie Lott), “Beautiful World” (Westlife) and “Remedy” (Professor Green) to name just a few. It was in her years of experience in writing rooms that the idea for “It’s Not Just A Song” came into fruition. Through revealing anecdotes; exclusive interviews with world-leading songwriters such as Amy Allen (Sabrina Carpenter, Harry Styles) and Emily Warren (Dua Lipa, Chainsmokers); and informative industry guidance; RuthAnne has been able to lift the veil on the coveted world of songwriting, as well as share the stories of some of the biggest hit songs of the 21st century.
