This event is aimed at helping musicians based in Ireland learn more about the funding opportunities and supports available to them. The talk will explore available grants, with advice from a range of professionals working in the arts in Ireland. Join us for this FREE in-person event featuring Tara Bolger (Support Manager Music and Opera at Arts Council Of Ireland), Sharon Rollston (Chief Executive at Music Network) and Alison Geraghty (Head Of Grant Programming at Culture Ireland)

About the Panelists:
Tara Bolger – Arts Council Of Ireland
Tara Bolger has been working with the Arts Council of Ireland for just over 3 years as Support Manager in the Music and Opera team, with a key focus in her role being the management of funding schemes. With BA and MA degrees in music from Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University respectively, Tara also holds qualifications in management, marketing and public relations. Having held leadership positions in music administration, management and performing for over 25 years, Tara brings to the music sector her significant experience, both at national and international levels, from her career to date. Prior to the Arts Council, Tara worked with the Irish Music Rights Organisation in various roles over her 20 years there, specialising in the administration of performing royalties on behalf of music creators and publishers. Her work with the Arts Council sees her continuing to focus on the support of artists and arts organisations in the wider arts sector. With music having been a passion from a young age, Tara counts herself fortunate to have had the opportunities to indulge that passion both in her professional and personal life.
Sharon Rollston – CEO, Music Network
Sharon heads up Music Network, Ireland’s national music touring and development organisation. Music Network is a leading resource organisation for the nurture and presentation of live music in Ireland, and is passionate about bringing the magic of live music to audiences and supporting the career development of musicians. As CEO and Artistic Director, Sharon leads on the implementation of Music Network’s strategic and operational plans. Music Network delivers a broad range of complementary programmes including a National Touring Programme, Musician Residencies both here and abroad, Learning & Participation projects, The Music Capital Funding Scheme, Commissioning, Training Programmes and other professional development supports for musicians.
Alison Geraghty – Head of Grant Programming, Culture Ireland.
Alison Geraghty is the Head of Grant Programming at Culture Ireland. Culture Ireland creates and supports opportunities for Irish artists and companies from across the island of Ireland to present their work to global audiences. Since its establishment in 2005, Culture Ireland has operated within the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. Culture Ireland supports Irish artists to present and promote their work at strategic international festivals and venues through a Regular Grant Scheme. It also facilitates artists to promote their work to international promoters through the Showcase Scheme to gain future opportunities to present their work abroad.
