Musical excellence in an informal friendly atmosphere
Ensemble in Residence: Camerata Bachiensis of Leipzig
The festival will celebrate Georg Philipp Telemann (1681 – 1767) on the 250th anniversary of his death, with four concerts featuring music by Telemann and his contemporaries.
The festival will also highlight the Viola da Gamba with music for virtuoso solo viol and for viol consort, performed by established international artists and new generation Irish viol players
Camerata Bachiensis
An ensemble of young talented chamber musicians who have been gaining notice and awards internationally over the last four or more years. Currently the “ensemble in residence” in the Bach Museum, Leipzig, they have made something of a speciality of the music of Telemann and his contemporary composers of the late German Baroque.
Joowon Chung, soprano; Roberto De Franceschi, baroque oboe and traverso; Anne Kaun & Uwe Ulbrich, violins; Magdalena Schenk-Bader, viola; Philipp Weihrauch, violoncello; Julia Chmielewska, harpsichord.
Harpsichord recital
Colin Booth harpsichordist and harpsichord-maker will perform a programme of Hamburg harpsichord music – by Telemann, Matheson and Handel.
Solo Viol and Viol consort
Reiko Ichise and Sarah Groser with new generation of Irish viol players, including Aoife Nic Athlaoich, will perform a programme of English viol consort music
Reiko Ichise one of the finest gamba players in the UK – member of Passacaglia and Florilegium
Sarah Groser a member of the Rose Consort of viols for fifteen years who has worked with other ensembles including Fretwork, Charivari Agreable, London Baroque and the Dowland Consort.

Programme also includes an introduction to the music and instruments of the baroque, baroque ensemble classes and viola da gamba master classes.
